TEACHING MATERIALS
Students often have their imaginations beaten out of them by the time they're grown up.
Using Frank Beddor's novel, The Looking Glass Wars as inspiration, educators can help spur creative growth by having their students draft an invention or creation that is worthy of being displayed in the Wonderland universe, or Inventor's Parade.
In this instance, the students will create their own fanart gallery, and will display their work throughout the classroom in order to draw inspiration for future assignments. Students will also write a small summary of their image and give a presentation on it if time allows for sharing.
By having kids invent something of their own liking, the class may share a unique image of what The Looking Glass Wars appears to be. Rather than rely on pre-made material or film production props, students will have to create their own image for how they imagined the novel.

3. POV diary of Alyss to Alice
Students will be asked to write about Alyss's change from Alyss the princess into Alice the dutiful daughter. It will be in the form of a diary to fully understand Alyss's point of view and how she changes by losing her true self.
4. POV journal of Hatter
Hatter spends almost two decades looking for Alyss and he slowly goes mad. He asks everyone around the world if they have seen Alyss, but he is losing hope. The students will get to write about Hatter's struggles through his time searching and his frustrations. This will give them the unique insight into the diligence of a protector.
